The “Nipun Lakshya” targets are part of the National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy (NIPUN Bharat) mission, which aims to ensure that every child in India gains foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) by the end of Grade 3 by the year 2026-27. This initiative is critical for enabling children to perform basic arithmetic operations and read with comprehension, which are fundamental for future learning and academic success.
