Kendriya Vidyalaya Ongole was started in the year 2007 in a temporary accommodation, under Civil Sector in the coastal city of Ongole, the District Head Quarter of Prakasham District falling in KVS Hyderabad Region. District Collector is the Chairperson of the VMC. The Vidyalaya was given land in the city of Ongole and after the construction of a permanent building, Vidyalaya has started functioning from there since 2014.
